Thomas Dickinson (c1560?-1626) of Woodend
Thomas Dickinson was baptised before the surviving Lamplugh register starts. He was son of Thomas the elder, and executor of his will.
He married 20-06-1585 in Lamplugh to Isabel [?]. She was buried 27-02-1625 as his wife. He remarried 03-11-1625, eight months later, to Margaret Sumpton. He was buried 27-12-1626.
Margaret was the widow of William Sumpton who, in his younger years with a first wife, had raised a family at Streetgate. It's not clear whether William and Margaret had any children together, but William's youngest daughter Janet (baptised 1592) died at Woodend in 1630. Margaret then went to live in Cockermouth with her son or stepson John Sumpton, where she died in 1632.
Thomas and Isabel had at least three children: Elizabeth (baptised 21-12-1586), Thomas (who inherited Woodend) and Janet (baptised 13-05-1592).
He was described in the probate of William Robertson of Hensingham in 1622 as 'Thomas Dickinson elder of the Woodend'.
